What's the first thing you'd like to do as Youth Pastor at Living Hope?
The first thing I would like to DO as Youth Pastor is surrender every opportunity, every attitude, every desire for the ministry, and every relationship over to the Almighty God. This is His ministry. And I want to be obedient to Him. The second thing I want to do is build a gigantic youth tower on the east side of the building equipped with water slides and trampoline walls. Just kidding. That's maybe 50,001 things later. The actual second thing I will do is plan the high school youth KICK OFF meeting on SEPTEMBER 1st!!! It may involve a tower, water slides, and trampolines...you won't know unless you come to find out for yourself!
Tell us a little about yourself...
After graduation, I spent 27 months in Central Honduras serving with the United States Peace Corps. I lived in a mountainous coffee farming village of roughly 80 families. Together we built latrines for family units lacking sanitary disposal, built improved stoves in the kitchens, began a women's baking coop, and organized a men's and women's soccer teams.
And what about Jen?
Jen and I met in the freshman orientation line at college. I offered her a lolly-pop once we completed the orientation. Friendship quickly followed. Eight and half years later, I came to my senses and asked her out. She cautiously said yes. As the line goes...the rest is a beautiful history.
My favorite scripture?
With so many sweet passages like 2 Timothy 3:16 it's a difficult task for Brian to pick just one. If tickle tortured into choosing one, he would say Acts 16:31. When a gracious jailer asks Paul and Silas what he must do to be saved. Their response is what is recorded in verse 31. "They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household."
